Pre Conference Opportunities
8:00 – 11:30 - J-1 Visa Waiver Program Peer to Peer and Learning Session | Stimson/Chisholm Trail Rooms
The Conrad 30/J-1 Visa Waiver Programs an important recruitment tool for rural and underserved communities. Since it’s a small and unique recruitment program, state managers and others who work closely with international candidates can sometimes feel disconnected from how other states are choosing to manage their program. In this session come together with J-1 visa waiver program peers to learn about different ways states manage the day-to-day aspects of the program as well as determine their state’s ultimate policy goals.
9:00 – 1:30 – Pre-Conference Lounge | Santa Fe Trail Room
Come network with your fellow 3RNet members, find someone to grab lunch with, get any conference (or other) questions answered by 3RNet staff.
11:30 – 1:30 - Data You Say? Practice Sights Retention Collaborative Data Workshop with bag lunch provided by the Foundation for Health Leadership & Innovation | Stimson/Chisholm Trail Rooms
Come join Dr. Donald Pathman, a family physician and longtime rural retention researcher at UNC Chapel Hill, and members of the 20-state Practice Sights Retention Collaborative in a two-hour workshop on ways to use data collected by the Collaborative to strengthen state and federal loan repayment, scholarship and related programs for clinicians. The workshop will focus on the Collaborative’s data from 18,000 completed clinician questionnaires and 4,800 administrator questionnaires. The group will discuss how to produce data reports on-line to answer your state’s questions, answer questions about the meaning of the reports’ many tables and graphs and discuss how states are using this and other outcome data to strengthen programs and inform policy makers. This workshop is open to all.
